So, do you want to start playing soccer?

Lets take a look at a few activities or drills you can do at home.

First activity: juggling

Lets get this out of the way. Juggling is THE BEST activity you can do to improve at soccer.

By juggling, you improve your touch (handling), which in turn improves every aspect of your game.

Juggling also improves your confidence in yourself.

This is a huge factor in your game, that you believe in yourself.

Second activity: passing/dribbling

This next activity requires multiple people, so gather up your friends or family.

In this drill, you have 2 options:

  • Option 1 is to use 4 balls and dribble around the cones.
  • You have to go fast so you don't get caught by others! Try to keep your head up and focus on touch.
  • You can always start slow if needed.

  • Option 2 is to use 2 balls and pass around the cones.
  • This will require 6 people because you must follow your pass.
  • If there was only 4, you would have to follow your own pass as well as recieve it!
  • You can always start slow by using only 1 ball if needed.

  • Third activity: running

Wait, what? Nope, this really is an extemely important activity in soccer.

Games last 90 minutes , and only 3 substitutions are allowed (at least in the pros)

Therefore, you need to have a lot of endurance to last the game. Running is the best way to improve this.

Remember that with running, it is better to be consistent in your running schedule.

This means that almost daily running is much better than 1 or 2 very long runs per week.
